Storage:
Keep your cake refrigerated until you’re ready to serve.
If serving the same day, it can stay at room temperature (in a cool area) for up to 4 hours.
Before Serving:
Remove the cake from the refrigerator 1–2 hours before serving to allow the cake and buttercream to soften.
Cakes served straight from the fridge can be firm and more difficult to cut — room temperature brings out the best flavor and texture.
Cutting the Cake (Event Style):
For gatherings or weddings, cakes are often cut in a way that maximizes servings:
Start by cutting the cake down the center, creating two equal halves.
Take one half and begin slicing it into rectangular strips about 1–2 inches wide.
Lay each strip flat, then cut those strips again into smaller rectangles or squares — this creates even, bite-sized servings.
Repeat with the other half of the cake.
Wipe your knife between cuts for clean slices and a polished look.
This method ensures consistent portions and makes it easier to serve larger groups neatly and efficiently.
