How to enjoy Le Petit Amour’s Vintage Cakes:

Cake Care & Serving Instructions

Storage:

  • Keep your cake refrigerated until you’re ready to serve.

  • If serving the same day, it can stay at room temperature (in a cool area) for up to 4 hours.

    Before Serving:

  • Remove the cake from the refrigerator 1–2 hours before serving to allow the cake and buttercream to soften.

  • Cakes served straight from the fridge can be firm and more difficult to cut — room temperature brings out the best flavor and texture.

Cutting the Cake (Event Style):

  • For gatherings or weddings, cakes are often cut in a way that maximizes servings:

    • Start by cutting the cake down the center, creating two equal halves.

    • Take one half and begin slicing it into rectangular strips about 1–2 inches wide.

    • Lay each strip flat, then cut those strips again into smaller rectangles or squares — this creates even, bite-sized servings.

    • Repeat with the other half of the cake.

    • Wipe your knife between cuts for clean slices and a polished look.

    • This method ensures consistent portions and makes it easier to serve larger groups neatly and efficiently.
